昔の写真から書き起こしていますが、
隙間からのぞき見してでも選挙運動をみるその後ろ姿は
熱のこもった雰囲気と社会の変化が身近にある感じがしてきます。

ON A STARRY NIGHT
He is reading a newspaper on the train at night.
It was almost midnight so there weren’t many people around.
Nothing interrupts his time.
The sound of the train running, the empty interior,
and night sky with stars.
Isn’t this the moment when he can immerse himself in his time the most?

深夜近くなので回りにあまり人もおらず
彼の時間を遮るものは何もありません。
電車の走る音と人のいない車内そして
星のある夜空。

PASTOR’S ASSISTANCE
He met a pastor and decided to help him.
He did not commit a crime but
his life was not easy.
The pastor sensed his sincerity
and decided to work with him.
He lives in the moment.

He drives a tractor who a farmer’s old man.
He works while smoking.
If you have been doing the same job for many years,
everything around me seems to mysteriously blend in.

He gave up on life. And it’s lonely.
But, I drew a picture using him as a model. He is a flower to me.
The existence that people want to portray is never the same as the existence recognized by society.
Maybe that’s where beauty lies.

This picture depicts my alma mater.
I drew this to publicize the alumni association.
At my alma mater, there is not a person like him in the picture.
But that sense of discomfort is interesting.
The sense of confinement that is school is fading away.

It has a kitschy feel, but it seems stubborn.
It seems commonplace, but it feels a little different.
It brings out a different personality than usual.

He’s one of my favorite musicians.
The model has a strong presence, but a different taste has entered the picture.
I don’t know what he’s doing, but he makes me feel like he’s doing something.

モデルの存在感そのままに、また違ったテイストが絵に入り込んでおり

Is he a person wearing a turtle shell or what?
It looks strange, but its eyes are alive.
For some reason, those eyes don’t lie and give me a feeling of vitality.
No one has ever seen its face without its grotesque shell.

I feel like such people will eventually find a new wall.

日々トレーニングを続け、表現をし続けていますが、
彼女は壁に突き当たっています。
新しいダンスの表現を探していますが、
まだ答えは出ていない。
傍目には洗練されて、ユニークな表現をしているダンスですが、本人には常に不安と疑問があり続けます。
結局そんな人が新たな壁を見つけるような気がします。

A mysterious presence that appears in the usual places,
It seems to be pointing to something.
For some reason, it is deeply engraved in my memory.

自分を投影しているのか、
他の誰かが映っているのか？
いつもの場所に現れる不思議な存在は、
何かを指し示しているようで
なぜか記憶に深く刻まれます。
