Before I forget
This painting, titled Before I Forget,
was created with my personal feelings in mind.
The person in the painting feels like a gatekeeper.
His background is a golden grassland.
It is truly the only place that satisfies people’s hearts.
You must convince the gatekeeper to enter.
There is probably a destination that only the chosen ones can cross.
It’s not a place filled with greed,
but a place where you can understand true emotion.

忘れる前にと題したこの絵は、私の個人的な思いを込めて制作しました。
絵の中の人はまるで門番のように感じます。
彼の背景は黄金色の草原が広がっています。
そこは、まさに人の心を唯一満たす場所ですが
入るには門番を納得させる必要があります。
選ばれた人たちしか渡れないその先はおそらく
欲で満たされるものではなく、本当の感動を理解できる場所なのです。

This work was created in Kyoto.
How to create something new from an old townscape
for some reason, I can’t do it the proper way.
Some degree of malice and destruction occurs,
and it looks foreign to an outsider.
I feel that this act is actually promoting development.
In the picture, you can see creatures that appear in the old town.
They create and destroy repeatedly,
it’s like a wraith trying to change their city.

この作品は京都で制作したものです。
古い街並みの中から新しいものを生み出すには
なぜかまっとうなやり方ではできないものです。
多少の悪意や破壊が生じ、傍目には異質に見える
その行為は実は発展を促しているように感じます。
絵の中には古い街に顔を出す生き物が見えます。
彼らは創造と破壊を繰り返し、
自分たちの街を変えようとする生霊のようです。
